Virginia C. (Newsome) Lively (wife of Rev. Lloyd H. Lively) passed away peacefully on July 7, 2021 due to complications with pneumonia surrounded by her loving family. She retired from Signal Knitting Mills after 25 years. She was a member of the OES Dayton Chapter #360 and was a former Worthy Matron several times over. Attended Melville Baptist Church blessing them with her beautiful alto voice. An avid boater and member of the White Rocks Yacht Club. A loving mother, beautiful grandmother, all that knew her knew her well, come join us for her final farewell. She was the last of 7 siblings and preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Lloyd H. Lively; sons, Sonny and Bern Lively; granddaughters, Shanna Lively, Mandy Lively, April Lively and niece, Rhonda Legg.
Survivors are her daughter, Elaine Lively; son, Steve Lively (Amy); step-son, Linden Lively (Terri); grandchildren, William Copeland (Jayde), Molly Ann (Dusty Bradshaw), Shelby Clark (Zach), Mallory (Matt Millsaps), Daisy Lively, Nathan Lively, Josh Lively and Dustin Levi; special nephews, James Legg and Butch Gressett; special niece, Veda Paris; special “daughter”, Joyce Murray; many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.
Services will be on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Greg Shoemate officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday before the service at the funeral home.
