Rosa Lee

Rosa Lee (Ricketts) Lee, 87, went to be with her heavenly father and Lord, Jesus Christ, on April 8, 2021 at her home in Soddy Daisy, TN after a battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her two daughters and her niece, Pat.

Rosa was born in Soddy, TN on December 7, 1933 and lived there most of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Annie Ricketts, husband of 50 years, Billy Lee, 14 brothers and sisters, and several nieces and nephews. The Ricketts were one of the first families who settled in Soddy Daisy in the early 1900’s. She was known to everyone as “Rosie” and her two grandsons called her Nanny and Nanee of which she loved with all her heart.

Rosie loved to fish and never missed an opportunity as she always had a fishing pole in the back of her car. She was an excellent cook and loved to sew. Gardening was dear to her heart and she had lots of beautiful plants and flowers. Rosie also loved cats and had grand cats that brought a lot of joy to her life.

Rosie was a member of New Life Baptist Church for many years and was a charter member. She loved her church family and her pastor J.D. Gibson. Rosie was active until her illness. Rosie was employed by Signal Knitting Mills for over 20 years and retired from The Chattanooga Group in her 60’s.

She is survived by her two daughters, Sharon Lee Lloyd (Joe) of Jensen Beach, FL and Mary Ruth Hill (Todd) of Parkersburg, WV; two grandsons, Jamie Cain of Jensen Beach, FL and Hampton Hill (Grace) of Morgantown, WV; as well as, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Rosie had a dear niece, Pat Ricketts who she called “bestie” for over 60 years. She had another dear niece Jessie Ray Mincey and her husband J.C. who were very special to her as well.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, April 16, 2021 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at New Life Baptist Church on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with her son-in-law, Dr. Todd Hill presiding.
