Roger Daniel Taylor Sr

Roger Daniel Taylor, Sr., 64, of Bakewell, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2019. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Roger served his country in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War stationed in Germany. He worked at Heatec starting as a welder before becoming a lead man. He enjoyed playing guitar and singing, hunting and fishing but his favorite thing was his grandchildren. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne Taylor and Norma Gates.

Survivors are his wife, Gwen Taylor; son, Roger Taylor, Jr. (Amandalee); grandchildren, Dustin Sheffey, Amanda Sheffey, Lexie Taylor and Roger Taylor, III; brothers, Wayne Taylor (Sharon), Wes Taylor (Janice) and Doug Taylor; sisters, Ardythe Johnson and Gayla Harris; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Tommy Levi, Rev. Jerry Culberson and Rev. Mike Combs officiating. Burial will follow at National Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
