Margirene Hulgan Smith, 83, of Bakewell, TN was born January 1, 1935 in Fort Payne, AL. On September 1, 2018, after 6 long years of separation, she was overjoyed to reunite with her devoted husband, Bunt, who preceded her in death. She was a fiercely strong and resilient lady, a devoted mother, grandmother and friend. She was the embodiment of love. She embraced and adopted many into her family along her way. Her strength and dedication to her family are a powerful legacy that will be embraced and will live on in the lives of generations to come.

Margirene was loved and treasured more than words can express. She will be celebrated and deeply missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her children: Estes “Franklin” Smith & Kathy Bode, Carol & Roger Rucker, Robert “Mickey” Smith, Robin “Robbie” & Mark Williams and Pamela Kellogg. Her grand-children: Crystal & Brad Nelson, Jeremy Smith, Cody & Stephanie Rucker, Josh & Ashley Smith, Ashley & Anthony Brinkle, Zack Williams, Benji Williams and David & Samantha Prince. Great-Grand-children: Skylar Nelson, Bryson Rucker, Liam Rucker, Jackson Barnes, Delaney Barnes, Weston Barnes, Aliya Smith, Bradley Prince, Paige Brinkle, Emily Brinkle, Reid Brinkle, Basin Prince and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Sharon Higgins.

Visitation will be 4 pm to 8 pm on Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at the funeral home with friend Greg Trantham officiating. Burial will follow at the Bakewell Mountain Community Cemetery.
