Lillian Geneva Bowman

Lillian Geneva Bowman, of Soddy Daisy, passed away peacefully on Friday, August, 20, 2021, in her home with her family around her.

She was born on Signal Mountain on December 9, 1921, to Paul and Grace Simons.  She was of the Baptist faith.  She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan, loved to read, and work crossword puzzles.

She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and nannie.  She loved people and helping others – never met a stranger, always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William “Buster” Bowman; and several siblings.

Those left behind to cherish her memories are daughter, Bettye (Wade) Hatfield; granddaughter, Cyndee (Rich) Koenig, and great grandson, Trey Koenig of Evans, GA; several nieces and nephews; other family members and a host of friends. 

The family would like to thank Dr. Walter Parkhurst for his special care over the years.  They would also like to thank Amedisys Hospice and especially to nurse Courtney Hicks.

There will be no visitation.  Graveside services will be Monday, August 23, 2021, at 12:00 Noon, in the Chapel of Devotion in Hamilton Memorial Gardens, Highway 153, Hixson, TN,  with Chaplain Mike Justice officiating.
