Johnny Thompson

John William “Johnny” Thompson, 82, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away at home surrounded by family on November 4, 2021. He graduated from Kirkman High as Mr. Kirkman High in 1958. He later worked for Dixie Yarns for over forty years. Johnny loved fishing, playing golf, baseball, basketball, and bowling.

His wife, Glenda Sue Thompson, parents, John William and Mildred Thompson; son, Bill Thompson and two grandsons, John Thompson and Patrick Skinner preceded him in death.

Johnny is survived by his son, Michael (Jean) Thompson; daughters, Kelly (Alvin) Sims, Michelle Lewis (Joseph), Amanda Thompson (Danny); brother, Jimmy Thompson; sisters, Margaret Elrod, Elaine Jackson along with fifteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Our family wants to thank Nurse Stephanie with Caris Hospice and Danny Wright for always being there for our dad.  

Visitation will be 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Monday. Services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with Pastor Pate Baze officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga Memorial Park.
