Ellis Ferry

Ellis Ferry, 95, passed away on January 8, 2022. Ellis was a WWII veteran, earning three battle stars, as well as being a Bronze Star recipient. He was a co-owner of Daisy Mattress Company, and a contract school bus driver with Hamilton County Schools. He was very involved with many youth athletic programs in the area and a former deacon at Melville Baptist Church. Ellis was a loving father, grandfather and husband.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn West Ferry; son, Eddie Ferry; parents, Ralph and Pauline Ferry; brother, Donald Ferry; and sister, Katherine Ferry.

He is survived by his children, June Ferry, Michael (Anita) Ferry and Suzanne (Mike) Smith, grandson, Matthew (Mary) Ferry; brother, Ralph (Tennie Jo) Ferry; sister, Barbara (Tommy) Haile, as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.

The family will receive friends and loved ones from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday January 13, 2022 at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held in Poe Cemetery with Dr. Raymond Legg presiding at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 14, 2022.
