Dorothy "Dot" Monday

January 6, 1931 ~ February 16, 2020 (age 89) 89 Years Old

Tribute

Dot Allen Monday, 89, went to her heavenly home on February 16, 2020. Dot was born in Rockwood, TN, but made her home in Soddy Daisy after marriage. She loved working crossword puzzles, reading, playing Scrabble, and spending time with her family. She will be remembered as a strong Christian lady, a devoted wife, an amazing mother and grandmother, and an encourager whose home was always open. The lives she has poured into are too many to count. She was a faithful member of Mile Straight Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Cora Allen and siblings, Earl Allen, Jr., Mac Allen, Jackie Allen, Jane Ann Allen, David Allen, and Mary Ellen Jenkins.

She is survived by her husband of over 68 years, Charles Robert “Bob” Monday, as well as her daughters, Tanya (Lee) Hollomon, Letitia Rackley, Kim (Ray) Ragan, and Cindy (Lee) Wolff, as well as her adopted daughter, Amy (Alex) Lopez. She was loved by her grandchildren, Susan (Mike), Alicia, Christa (Tim), Travis (Leah), Rayna (Tom), Sara (Shay), Alexis (Russell), and Mateo, and her great grandchildren, Ethan, Emma, Allie, Cora, Clark, Lucy, Makayla, Brianna, Braison, Annie, Aven, Loftin, Paizlin, and Kimberly. She also has several nieces and nephews that held a special place in her heart.

The family would like to thank the kind staff at Soddy Daisy Healthcare Center who took a special interest in helping to care for Dot these past several months, as well as the compassionate staff at the Hospice Care Center. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Mile Straight Baptist Church building fund.
