Donald Sledge

Donald Gene Sledge “Donnie”, 68, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2018. He was a member of Christ Family Church. Donnie retired from the Iron Workers Local 704. He was a member of the Soddy Masonic Lodge # 418 F&AM. Donnie served his country in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He loved his church, family, people and fishing. Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ruth Parker Sledge and his twin brother, Ronald Sledge.

Survivors are his loving wife of 48 years, Phyllis Crawley Sledge; daughter, Amy Eustice (Mitchell); son, Shane Sledge (Heather) of Dallas, Georgia; grandchildren, Jacob and Cassie Sledge and Emily and Miles Eustice; sisters, Jimmie Ruth Wilson (Bobby) and Wanda McRee; brother, Raymond Jackson (Hazel); several nieces and nephews.

Services will be on Friday, April 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bishop Calvin Nunley officiating. Burial will follow at National Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
