Crystal Gail Brown

Crystal Gail Brown, 43, of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, peacefully fell asleep on April 12, 2022. She was preceded in death by parents, Billy and Deborah (Reno) Brown; grandparents, Malcolm and Beulah Brown and Dewey and Jo Ann Reno; nephew, Nathaniel Brown and several aunts and uncles.

Survivors include stepmother, Teresa (Tina) Brown; brothers, Billy, Patrick (Holly) and Michael (Tasha); stepbrother, Andy Defur; stepsister, Wendy (Phil) Heald; many nieces, nephews and cousins; aunts, Brenda (Ronnie) Fitts, Carolyn (Mike) Eddings and Sharon Brown; uncles, Herbert Brown and Phil (Donna) Reno.

Crystal attended Sequoyah Headstart, Mowbray Elementary, Falling Water Elementary, Daisy Elementary, and Soddy Daisy Middle School until the accident in 1993 which left her paralyzed. “Sissy” was motherly to her three younger brothers and loved them with her whole heart.

Crystal was a living miracle as she faced surgeries and multiple rounds of pneumonia. She will be remembered as being adventurous, fun loving, and strong willed. May she now rest in God’s loving arms.

The family is thankful to Crystal’s stepmother, coming into their lives and caring for Crystal, as well as New Haven and nurse/best friend Donna Duncan. Appreciation goes to those who remembered and prayed for Crystal along her hard fought journey.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Monday, April 18, 2022 at the funeral home. A graveside service will follow at 4:00 p.m. in Granny Walker Cemetery with Rev. Troy Simmons presiding.
