He is also survived by his church family and friends whom he loved dearly.

Billy was raised at the foot of Montlake Mountain in Soddy Daisy, where his childhood was full of adventures. He loved nature, animals, and the simple things in life. He liked to hunt, fish, swim, and collect arrowheads. He received an award for horseshoe pitching.

Billy was kind and had friends from all walks of life. He took his time in talking to people and inviting them to church. He keyed in on people’s needs and either helped or connected them with someone who could help. He was a “Jack of all Trades”. He could rig just about anything that was beyond repair.

After his first wife passed in 2001, Billy met and married Tina who assisted him in caring for his bedridden daughter and younger sons. He and Tina attended Straightway Holiness Church until his recent illness. They played important roles in the church under the leadership of Rev. Aaron Simmons (deceased) and his son, Rev. Troy Simmons. They were strong prayer warriors.

Billy lived life to its fullest. It is not how you start the race but how you finish. He would tell you today that the last 15 years of his life were the most rewarding as he faithfully trusted and served the Lord.

Psalm 116:15- Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his Saints.
