Betty Louise Minnis Jewell

Betty Minnis (Crawley) Jewell, 89, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2019. Betty was of the Baptist Faith. Her joy in life was her family and her many friends. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Betty loved the outdoors and time spent at Lake Tansi with her family and friends. She was always ready for an adventure and always had a loving smile on her face.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John “Red” Minnis; husband, Zane Jewell; mother, Amy Kelly Crawley; father, Roy M. Crawley; and brother, Maurice “Moe” Crawley.

She is survived by her daughters; Dianna Minnis Rooks, Marilyn Minnis Newell, and Johnnie (Bobby) Minnis Grant; grandchildren, John Scott Rooks, Amy (Jerry) Rooks Smith, Jami (Nathan) Newell Hollingsworth, Katie (Josh) Newell Flerl, Michael (Melissa) Newell, Chad Grant, and Brad Grant; and ten great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Chattanooga and Manor House for their loving care.

Services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, January 3, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. with Brother Phil O’Dell presiding. Burial will follow at Rhea Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends and loved ones from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2020 as well as one hour prior to services on Friday.
