Betty Sutherland

Betty Beene Sutherland, 86, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 due to complications of a stroke. She was a lifelong resident of Soddy-Daisy and worked as a cashier for Red Food and Bi-lo for 47 years. Betty is preceded in death by husband, J.T. Sutherland; parents Otis and Addie Beene; brothers; Junior Beene, Jay Beene and Harold Beene.

Survivors are her daughter, Kathy (Tommy) Shipley; son, Steve Sutherland; grandchildren, Erin Hensley, Wes (Brittany) Shipley; great grandchildren, Colt Hensley, Weston Shipley and J.T. Shipley; sister, George Ann Anderson; brother, Maurice Beene and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Rev. Alan Stewart officiating. Visitation is Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
