Alfred Morgan Cobb, 78, born February 3, 1942 in Meridian, MS, passed away on April 5, 2020. He was a highly intelligent and very opinionated man. He was in the graduating class from Central High of Chattanooga in 1960. In 1963 he graduated from UTK with the data processing management association. Alfred owned Cornerstone Systems computer business. He was instrumental in implementing the computer systems for Erlanger Hospital Systems and several Dalton carpet mills. From 2005 to 2015 he volunteered with SCORE of Chattanooga, mentoring small business owners. September 12, 1999 he joined Alcoholics Anonymous and spent the next 20 years helping others with this disease, including starting the AA meetings in the Hamilton County Jails. The 12-step process brought him back to his faith in God, forgiveness and serving others.
He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Genia Townes; parents, George Cobb and Audrey Homer; and great grandson, Owen Stokes.
Survivors are his sister, Barbara Jean Phillips; son, Steven (Dana Woody) Morgan; daughters, Kimberly (Randy) Lewis and Pamela Barnett; grandchildren, Tyler, (Caitlin) Stokes, Chris Davis, Casey (Jeaneè) Stokes, Erica Hindman, Anna Rothgery, Leslie (Hayden Moss) Lewis; great grandchildren, Brayden Davis, Carter Stokes, Sam Stokes, Kailey Thomas, Kami Thomas, Remi Stokes, Hensley Pope, Hannah Pope, Lawrence Branum and Lennox Moss; as well as cousins, Bob and Larry Rose and Jeannine Bridges.
