I was looking back on those who have passed this year in Soddy Daisy and seen this memorial and Obit of Punk. I was shocked. I did not know he went home to be with the Lord. I have known Punk for many, many years and pretty much lost contact with him when I moved away about fifteen years ago. I got to know Punk back in 1968 when I started working for Mrs. Davidson at the ole Chow Now, Home of the Plenty Burgers. I actually knew his mother because when I was a very little feller, from 2 years old till I was about 5 1/2 years old, we lived down from them on Daisy Dallas Road. We actually lived in that little house that sits on the road that was once owned by Mary Manning. I always called her Aunt Mary. I remember when I would be out playing in the yard in the evening, Mr. Star, Punks step-father would stop and give me candy on his way home from work. I always looked forward to those evenings. That was sometime around 1956 and 1957. I knew Mrs. Star as well and I still can picture her in my mind or how sweet she was and looked. I did not become to know Punk until 1968 and it was a few years before I found out he was Mrs. Star's son. Anyhow, Punk was always making funny comments and I never seen him without a big smile on his face. He always had a kind word to say to me and sometimes not so kind, when he felt like joking with me. I always knew how to take his comments, and if you didn't It was not his problem, but yours. He would joke and then laugh about it. I really hate to see these ole folks leave us. I feel they are and were the backbone of our beautiful town, Soddy Daisy, Tennessee. My prayers are with his wife and daughters and all the other family members, because I know that you will never get over missing him and missing his great sense of humor and smiles. RIP Punk Heard. You will be truly missed by many, many in this town. Jeff Amos

Please accept my condolences in the death of your loved one. Even when one has lived a long and fulfilling live, death comes to us all as an unwelcome enemy as the Bible describes. What a wonderful promise we have from Rev. 21:4 where it says that God will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more. How we long for that day. I extend my sympathy to an of you.

Sorry to hear about Punk's passing. Soddy Daisy won't be the same without him. He always had a big smile. I did not get to come to funeral home because I had surgery but the whole family was in my prayers.
