William "Bill" George Underwood

William George Underwood, 63 of Soddy Daisy, passed away at his home on September 4, 2022 surrounded by his family and loving wife, Jackie.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Jackie Owenby Underwood; daughter, Jamie Underwood Rush (Kevin); son, Jonathan Underwood; siblings, Sharon (Ken) Neighbors, Sam “Buster” and Martha Underwood and Jim (Sarah) Carden; special grandson, Jared Logan Lowe; as well as several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by special friends, Amanda and Anthony Davis and Julie Moses

He is preceded in death by grandparents, Bill and Ora Rose and parents, Jim Carden and Barbara Varner.

The service will be in Williamson and Sons chapel on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at 2:00 p.m with Michael Battles presiding.

The family will receive friends and loved ones from 4:00 to 8:00 Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at the funeral home and before services from 12:00 to 2:00 Thursday.

Burial will follow at Soddy Presbyterian Cemetery.

Bill received his GED from the US Army. He served 3 years. He was employed by the State of Tennessee, the Hamilton County Sherriff’s department and then he was an independent truck driver. He was an avid collector, loved wrestling, spending time with his grandson and his dog, Fudge. Bill loved having fun, joking and was known for his witty sense of humor.
