Bill Rosenberger

William G. Rosenberger of Chattanooga died Thursday, Jan. 6, in a local hospital. He was 71.
Born in DuQuoin, Ill., Bill was a decorated veteran of the Vietnam War and a retired employee of TVA, where he worked for 31 years before retiring in 2004.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Georgia Rosenberger; brother in law, Steve Tripp; and father-in-law, Lloyd Johnson.

Survivors include his wife, Pam Johnson Rosenberger of Chattanooga; daughter Stephanie Rosenberger of Chattanooga; son, Matthew Rosenberger of Chattanooga; grandsons, Kaleb Travis and Tyler Burns, both of Chattanooga; great-grandson, Brenin Burns of Chattanooga; brother, Pat (Margie) Rosenberger of Summerville, S.C; sisters, Karen (Jim) Hall of Blue Springs, Mo., Toni (Brent) Greathouse of Harrisonville, Mo. and Kim Tripp of Wentzville, Mo.; mother-in-law, June Johnson of Soddy-Daisy; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dennis and Dorothy Morgan of Soddy-Daisy; Jim and Kay Ashley of Soddy-Daisy; Harold and Joyce Johnson of Chattanooga; numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Bill served in the U.S. Army, 173rd Airborne, from 1969 to 1971, and loved to recall his experiences with his soldier buddies, including Rudy Teodosio.

While serving in the U.S. Army, Bill received the following commendations: National Defense Service Medal, Combat Medical Badge, Good Conduct Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal, three overseas service bars, Parachutist Badge, Sharpshooter Badge, Expert Badge (hand grenade) and the Vietnam Campaign Medal, w/60 device .

After being honorably discharged from the army, Bill moved to Chattanooga and became employed by TVA.

Services will be held Thursday, Jan. 13, at 2 p.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Rosenberger, Kaleb Travis, Tyler Burns, Mike Peterman, Rudy Teodosio and Justin Culberson.
