Wayne Edward Brown “Tree Man”, 72, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2020.  He was preceded in death by parents, Malcolm and Beulah Brown; grandparents, Alph and Damaris Brown and Lester and Allie Reel; brother, Billy Brown, sisters-in-law, Sara Brown and Deborah Brown; former wives, Sharon Kelley Brown and Mary Katherine “Pud” Brown.

Wayne was nicknamed “Sock Eye” as a child.  He was fearful of nothing and faced his illness with much hope of healing through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  At age 12, he was a guide at Mystic Caverns in Soddy-Daisy.  The “Gang of Friends” liked to swim, hunt, fish and play horseshoes with Wayne.

Wayne was an independent, hard working man.  He had worked at Sequoyah Nuclear Plant in construction and Adcox-Kirby Chevrolet.  He was a tree expert for most of his life and had worked with his brother Herbert for many years.  He was known for his auto mechanic skills.  There was not a job too big for Wayne. 

Wayne loved and cherished his family.  He had an open door to anyone who was in need or just wanted to talk.  He enjoyed his many friends at Wimpee’s Restaurant. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon; sons, Travis Brown and Mark Brown; stepson, Bon (Chynna) Oaks; granddaughters, Nicole (Chris) Clingan, Becca Brown, Laura Brown and Elliott Oaks; great grandsons, Liam Clingan and Samuel Clingan (on the way); brothers, Willis Brown, Herbert (Pat) Brown; sisters, Brenda (Ronnie) Fitts, Carolyn (Mike) Eddings; sister-in-law, Teresa (Tina) Brown; aunts, Bernice Reel and Loretta Reel; mother-in-law, Carolyn Pospichel; brothers-in-law, Donnie McAllister and Mike McAllister; many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services will be on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 2:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Troy Simmons officiating.  Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday before the services at the funeral home.
