Tommy Clark Jackson

Tommy Clark Jackson, 79, of Graysville Mountain, Tennessee, went to meet our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 surrounded by his family. Tommy grew up in Soddy-Daisy and graduated from Soddy-Daisy High School in 1959. He played football and many other sports for Soddy-Daisy and known as “Stone Wall Jackson”. Tommy supported and bleacher coached his son and grandsons who all played football for Rhea County Golden Eagles. He was married to his wife, Arbutus for 57 plus years and loved her so much. They were best friends and did pretty much everything together and she even deer hunted with him. He loved his whole family no matter what. He loved the Lord and attended Brayton Baptist Church from more than 50 years. Tommy retired from DuPont with 38 plus years. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Clark Jackson and George and Helen Shadwick Smith; nephews, Clark Stewart Jackson and James “Chip” Smith and many cousins, aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his wife of 57 plus years, Arbutus Hixson Jackson; children, Angelia Ann Jackson of Soddy-Daisy; Tammy Jackson Gardenhire (Charles) of Graysville Mountain and Jeffrey Clark Jackson (Vicki) of Sale Creek; brothers, Jerry H. Smith (Alma) of Soddy-Daisy; Jimmy Clark Jackson of Hixson; grandchildren, Courtni Jackson Pritchett (Jeremy) of Nashville, Jacob M. Gardenhire of Graysville Mountain, Jaci Jackson Orrick (Daniel) of Soddy-Daisy, Joshua M. Gardenhire (Dana) of Flat Top Mountain, Jonah M. Gardenhire of Graysville Mountain; step-grandchildren, Haley Osenbaugh (Robert) of Atlanta, Jared Arnold (Laine) of Soddy-Daisy, Christina Gardenhire Woods (Cody) of Atlanta; one special great granddaughter, Nola Hatti Orrick; step great grandchildren, Emerson Neely (Tyler), Rahly Osenbaugh, Marley Osenbaugh, Pierson, Miller, Cameron and Alex Arnold, Judah and Jonas Woods, many nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 8, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Social distancing will be practiced and facemask will be required.

Services and burial will be private with family only.
