Thelma Jean Pitts Thomas, 92, transitioned to her heavenly home on Wednesday, June 5, 2019. Born in Daisy, Tennessee to the late Haynes and Edna Lewis Pitts, she graduated from Soddy-Daisy High School. She was a longtime member of Daisy United Methodist Church. She married Charles Grady Thomas, Sr., a founder of Thomas Brothers Construction Company, and together they had three children who survive her, Charles G. “Butch” (Cindy) Thomas, Jr., Sharon (Ron) Gregory and Teresa (Mark) Williams.
She was a devoted wife, mother and caregiver to her husband before his passing in 1995. She was a loving friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her three children, her grandchildren, Wally Bice, Allison (Peter) Offringa, Jennifer (Phillip) Bruce, Trey (Kristen) Thomas, Rebecca (Andy) Holder, Matthew (Katelyn) Thomas and six great grandchildren, Chandler Holder, Carley Thomas, David Holder, Miller Bruce, Rayden Thomas and Miles Thomas. She loved her children and grandchildren beyond measure.
She also leaves behind her precious brother, Buddy Pitts and her wonderful baby sister, Judy (Harvey) Medearis.
She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Lara Owens and sisters, Mary Elizabeth Simpson and Patricia Allen.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 9, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Services will be on Monday, June 10, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Robert Johnson and Pastor Kelly Selby officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
