Tribute

Robert Arley Dunn, of Graysville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at his home on January 1, 2022.  He was 73.

 

Robert was born in Savannah, Georgia to Roy Calvin and Wilma LaNelle Griffin Dunn.  He graduated from Savannah High School in 1968.  He was president of the Red Bank Lions Club 1989-1990, a Freemason of the Dayton, TN Lodge 512, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Dayton, TN 360.

 

Robert was a retired teacher.  He taught graphic arts at East Ridge High School for twenty years.  Prior to teaching he ran the printing department at Erlanger Hospital. He was well versed in many things and enthusiastically shared his knowledge with others. His favorite topics were history and photography.

 

Robert loved deeply.  His heart belonged to his family and friends. He was a generous soul and supported several charities and anyone in need. He had an eclectic taste in music and enjoyed oldies and rockabilly the most. He was passionate about the outdoors.  He loved dove hunting,  fishing, hiking, camping, snorkeling and scuba diving.  He enjoyed riding motorcycles and later his scooter. 

 

He is preceded in death by his parents Roy Calvin and Wilma LaNelle Griffin Dunn, and brother Roy Calvin, Jr.

 

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Dunn, two sons Christropher Robert and Joseph Patrick (Sarah) Dunn, two step-sons John Alan (Lacy Gifford) and Michael David Agard, four grandchildren Cayson, Aubrey, Madelyn Dunn, and Zelda Gifford; his siblings:  Eddie (Margie), Danny (Teresa), Mollie (David Becker),  Virginia (Chris Oody), and sister-in-law Ana Dunn, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

 

Visitation will be Saturday, January 8th, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. followed by a celebration of life service at noon at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home in Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee.

 

Per Robert’s wishes, in lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to The Shriners Hospital (or charity of your choice) or asking that you enjoy a special meal with your family.  He believed in making memories.
