Richard Randall Lewis

Richard Randall Lewis (age 70) passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at home surrounded by his family as well as his canine companion Dr. Watson, after a battle with cancer. He was born August 28, 1948 in Chattanooga, TN; the son of Lloyd and Lucille (Davis) Lewis. He graduated from Kirkman Technical School in 1966. He served in the US Navy and was part of the crew during the historical 1967 fire aboard the USS Forrestal. Randall was an avid outdoorsman and scuba diver, and a proud member of the Chattanooga Rifle Club, Tennessee Mountain Hunting Club, and Vietnam Veterans Chapter 203. His greatest enjoyment in life was the love and attention he was able to give to and receive from his family, especially his grandchildren.
Randall is survived by Beverly (Benton) Lewis, his childhood sweetheart and the love of his life for over 50 years. He is also survived by his children Randy (Kim) Lewis and Renee (Marlene Collman) Lewis; grandchildren Tyler (Caitlin) Stokes, Casey (Jeaneē) Stokes, and Leslie Lewis; great-grandchildren Carter and Sam Stokes, Kailey and Kamille Thomas, and Lawrence Branum; siblings Lamar (Cindy) Lewis and Amlie Lewis; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both parents and his great-grandson Owen Matthew Stokes.
Randall spent the last weeks of his life in the care of Home Health Care of East Tennessee and Hospice. The family would like to send a special thank you to the members of this organization, especially Deborah Reynolds, for their compassionate care for Randall and his family during his final days.

Visitation is Tuesday, February 26, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Services will be on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. David Stancil officiating. Visitation will also be prior to funeral services on Wednesday, starting at 12:00 p.m. 

Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with military honors by the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 203 Honor Guard.
