Reba Lee Hughes, 91, of Flat Top Mountain, passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family. She was the owner and operator of “Maw Hughes Produce” for many years. A member of Flat Top Independent Church, she loved Jesus and her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Newt and Frankie Welch; brother, Elmer Welch; sister, Virginia Welch and granddaughter, Tonya Hempel.
Survivors are her loving husband of 73 years, Elmer Hughes; children, Helen Sinclair (Leslie), Judy Cooper (Hoyt), Joyce Bradley, Terry Hughes (Diane), Donald Hughes (Anita), Sherry Willberg (Eric), Darryl Hughes (Lynn) and Scott Hughes (Beth); siblings, L.C. Welch (Martha Dean) and Melvin Welch (Betsy); 15 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren; many step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.
Services will be on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mark Harwood and Rev. Calvin Shelton officiating. Burial will follow at Bowman Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
