Paul Brock, Sr.

Paul Marion Brock Sr of Hixson died at age 79 Saturday night October 2 at home only 3 days short of celebrating his 80th birthday. He was surrounded by his loving family. He was a supportive and caring husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was always so proud of his family and they of him. He graduated from Soddy Daisy High School class of ’59 as the captain of their football team.  Paul served in the U.S. Army after high school in the States and in Germany. He was an avid Bluegrass music lover and a member of the Saddle Pals riding Club for many years. He loved golfing as a longtime member of Valleybrook Golf and Country club. Paul loved UT sports and wore UT Orange proudly everyday. Go Vols! Paul was employed at Royal Desoto Chemical for 34 years and later retired from Tennessee Hotel Supply. Paul was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence E. and Ernestine Brock, brothers Wayne and Odell Brock, sister Pam Brock Counts, and daughter in law Nancy Shoemaker Brock.

Survived by his loving wife of 62 years: Sue Pelfrey Brock of Hixson, children Sharon Brock Johnson, Paul Marion Brock, Jr and Lisa Brock Grant (Kelly), grandchildren Jarrod Grant (Megan), Jonathan Johnson, Jordan Grant, Joseph Johnson, Josh Johnson, Jenna Johnson, Conleigh Brock, Miller Brock, great grandson Jaxon Grant, and plenty of nieces and nephews.

Leaving behind such a large and loving family, Paul Brock will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all.

Services will be on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Jerry Pelfrey officiating. Burial will follow at National Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
