Lyda Smith

Lyda Grey Smith, 100, of Sale Creek, Tennessee, went home to her Heavenly home, Saturday, May 20, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and last attended Lake Drive Baptist. Lyda loved the Lord and her family. She was a delight to everyone that knew her. She made everyone feel as if they were her favorite. She told her family and friends often that the Lord was good and didn’t want anyone to forget it. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Esther H. Smith; her parents, Chester and Ida Mae Brackett; brother, “Bud” (Lousie) Brackett; sister, Doris Pickett (Richard) and niece, Patty Brackett.

She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Smith; nieces and nephews, Deborah Pickett, Martha and Johnny Cunnyngham, Steve and Marquita Brackett, Anita, Randy, Cody, Shelby and Hope Defore, Anna, Van, Noah and Gabriel Ferguson; Stephen, Lesley, Ella and London Brackett, David and Billie Galyon, Brent and Autumn Gaylon and several more nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Services will be on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Stephen Brackett and Rev. Van Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow at New Providence Cemetery in Sale Creek.
