Tribute

Lois Lay May, 92, of Soddy-Daisy, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 2, 2019. Lois was a member of Bayside Baptist Church. She was a native of Dunlap and also lived in the Chattanooga area. Lois was a pastor’s wife and worked in retail. She was a seamstress and loved to sew. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Martha Hixson Burnette, husband, Rev. Jack May, 2 daughters, Sandra Pickett and Linda Smith and 4 sisters, Zona Mabry, Pauline Henry, Ava Lee Standifer and Beuna Dunbar.

Survivors include her daughter, Carol Hawkins (Robert); 2 sons-in-law, Phil Smith and Horace T. Pickett; 6 grandchildren, Tony Pickett (Danielle), Brad Smith, Steve Pickett (Tina), Robin Coffman, Tathia Mattila (Robert), Melanie Benson (Will); 14 great grandchildren, Logan, Landon, Alexis, Taylor, Jack, Ashlyn, Autumn, Alyse, Ben Cheng-Yu, Riley, Carson, Scout, Madeline and Tori, several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Services will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Grady Cooper of Bayside Baptist officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Dunlap.
