Lenora (Nora) Lovelady, 91, departed this world and entered the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 20, 2020. A lifelong resident of Soddy Daisy, TN. She began her beautiful life on June 9, 1929. Lenora was known to many as Sister, and she affectionately called everyone she greeted Buddy. She loved everyone and her kind spirit touched all she met. Lenora was the last, known founding member of Soddy First Baptist, now known as Rechoboth Baptist. Lenora joined the original church in 1944 at the age of fifteen and a member of Rechoboth.
Lenora was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend. She always shared the love and goodness of God in her life. She frequently said, “God has been so good to me”.
Lenora was preceded in death by her parents, William Clyde Lovelady, Sr. and Loma C. McDonald Lovelady; brother, William Clyde Lovelady, Jr.; nephews, Barry Lovelady and Todd Lovelady and a brother-in-law, Ronald Hartman.
Surviving siblings are Lloyd (Henrietta) Lovelady, Wanda Sue Hartman and Terry (Charlotte) Lovelady; seven nieces and nephews, Dale (Debbie) Lovelady, Karen Hartman Millsaps, Tammy Hartman (Mickey) Hogsed, Danny Lovelady, Lisa (Chris) Brooks, Reagan Lovelady and Samantha (Billy) Bates and several great and great-great-nieces and nephews.
A special thank you the staff and volunteers at the Soddy Daisy Healthcare Center the loved and cared for Sister during her time there. She loved every one of them as was so thankful for the many lasting friendships.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Lenora’s memory to the Rechoboth Baptist Church Building Fund or a favorite charity that furthers the work of our Lord and Savior.
Visitation is 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday, October 23, 2020. Services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Stewart and Pastor Paul Forgey officiating. Burial will follow in Lovelady Cemetery.
