Leamon Monroe Stringfield, Jr., 85, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2019. He was of the Baptist faith. L.M. retired after 32 years from DuPont. He enjoyed watching Western movies and being on the water. L.M. was an avid fisherman and loved teaching his grandchildren how to fish. His grandchildren knew him as “Papaw Stick Hair”. He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Stringfield; son, Larry Reese, parents, Clara Edith and Leamon Stringfield, Sr.; sisters, Betty, Wanda, Judy and Katherine.
Survivors are his children, Leamon Stringfield, III (Judi), Glenda Boyd (Bobby), Judith Yancey (Mike); brother-in-law, Larry Davis; grandchildren, Todd, Tuesday, Tim, Keri, Allison, Jennifer, Michael and L.M., IV; several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and his brother by choice, Don McKerley (Betty).
Visitation is Wednesday, February 27, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Services will be on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Lakewood East Memory Gardens.
