On Sunday, September 28, 2020 Judith Ann Thompson, loving wife, mother of five, grandmother of nine, and great-grandmother of one passed away at the age of 76. Judith (Judy) was born on January 18, 1944 in Chattanooga to Bethine Molly Scott (Young-Scott) and Sherman Scott. She married Gerald Alvin Thompson on March 15, 1962. She met many of you having clerked for Red Food Store, S & H Kress, Hill's, K Mart, and representing Avon.
She gained her heavenly wings after a 9 year battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP). Throughout her struggle, she kept her happy demeanor and when she left us she did so peaceably. Her last days were spent enjoying happy moments with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great granddaughter and celebrating one of her favorite occasions - a family birthday.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents Bethine Molly Welch and Sherman Scott, brother Benarr Welch, sister Juanita Allen, sister Polly Smith, and brother Dewayne (Sonny) Scott.
She is survived by husband Gerald Thompson, sister Jo Ann Minock (Welch) of Richmond, VA, son Michael Arthur Thompson (Karen), daughter Karen Dillon, daughter Teresa Feagans, daughter Connie Lane (Richie), son Christopher Thompson, grandchildren Matthew Hudson (Blair Goff), Corey Thompson, Alicia Lee, Ashley Lee, Garrett Thompson (Sierra), Miranda Dillon (Hunter Phillips), Hunter Lane, Grayson Thompson, Macie Lane, and great granddaughter Kynlee Hudson.
In lieu of flowers donations to your favorite charity would be appreciated.
The family will receive friends and loved ones from 11:00 to 1:00 at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 30, 2020. Graveside services will follow in Chattanooga Memorial Park at 1:30 on Wednesday.
