Judith Moore

Judith Ann Varner Moore found peace in the arms of Jesus on the morning of October 7, 2020 surrounded by her family.
Judy was born April 9, 1939 in Soddy, Tennessee, the daughter of Jack Woodard and Ruby Irene (Ricketts) Varner. She was a 1957 graduate of Soddy Daisy High School, where she was honored as Miss. Soddy Daisy. Judy was loved and adored by everyone who knew her. After retiring from TVA, she spent many years with her husband, David, camping, traveling, gardening, and making memories with her family. Judy was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church for over 40 years, where she sang in the choir and played organ for a number of years. She especially enjoyed spending time with her daughters on monthly “girls’ luncheons” and sitting on the front porch with family and friends that she loved so well.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Irene Varner.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, David Carl Moore; daughters, Alyce Brumlow (Barry) Brooks, Melanie Brumlow Leamon, and Angie Brumlow (Eddie) Wilson; step children, Dedri Moore (Tommy) Bruce, David (Vicki) Moore, and Scott Moore; brother, Jack (Ira Mae) Varner; sister-in-law, Doris Bailey; grandchildren, Matthew (Lydia) Brooks, Brittany (Charles) Dolan, Jonathan Leamon, Alexander Leamon, April Leamon Cagle, Elizabeth (Wayne) Boofer, Dakoda (Cheri) Hill, Nikki (Blake) Holbrook, Kelsey (Kyle) Goham, Zachary (Nikkie) Moore, Savannah Moore, Brooke Moore, Blake (Emily) Moore; fourteen great grandchildren, and many wonderful cousins, nieces and nephews.

Many thanks to Hearth Hospice for their loving care the past few weeks, especially Amanda Ware and Marie Williford. Also many thanks to Christie Laymon who provided so much love and care to the family.

The family will receive friends and loved ones from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at the funeral home. Services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, October 9, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Joe Caldwell presiding. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Judy’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
