Johnny W. Skiles, Master Chief Petty Officer Ret. Of Mowbray Mountain, died Thursday, March 25, 2021 at his home at the age of 73. His parents, Bill and Alice Skiles of Soddy Daisy proceed him in death. Also proceeding him are his brothers, Arnold Skiles and Clyde as well as sisters, Ruby Parrott, Dean Brooks and Jo Padgett.
Mr. Skiles is survived by his wife, Sherry (Sims) Skiles; daughters, Donna Skiles and Alison Coffin (T.J.); son, Heath Skiles (Jaclyn); step-son, Paul Hatfield (Trish); granddaughters, Porsha, Jasmine, Brittany, Emily, Katie, Pixie and Mallory; grandsons, Desmond, Jonathan and Sean; as well as, five great grandchildren, brother, Archie Skiles and sister, Georgia Parrott.
Mr. Skiles retired from the United States Navy with 24 years of service. He was also retired from Moccasin Bend Mental Health Institute. He loved to travel with his buddies Chris and Gay, tell sea stories and argue. He fought a valiant fight against his greatest enemy, cancer. The family would like to thank Hearth Hospice for their excellent care.
Visitation is 10:00 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. Tuesday. Services will be 1:30 P.M. Tuesday, March 30, 2021, in Chattanooga National Cemetery with Military Honors.
