John A. Taylor, Jr., 82, after a hard-fought battle with lung cancer, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2021 at home surrounded by his family into the presence of his Lord. He served his country in the Tennessee Army National Guard. He was retired from Combustion Engineering after 34 years of service. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Norma Jean Thurman; parents, John A. Taylor, Sr. and Ruby Pauline Miller Taylor; sisters, Helen Taylor Milleirons and Gwendolyn Taylor McDougall.
He is survived by sons, John (Kathy) Taylor, Perry Anthony (Felecia) Taylor, Steven Taylor and daughter, Tonya Taylor; granddaughter, Audrey Taylor (Nathan) Picklesimer; great grandson, Owen Picklesimer and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be on Friday, January 15, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. EST at Winnie Cemetery with Bishop Calvin Nunley officiating. There will not be a visitation.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hearth Hospice.
