Jim Norris
James “Jim” Norris, 71, passed away October 3, 2017 from a long battle with heart failure. Jim graduated from Soddy daisy High School in 1964 and resided in Hamilton County his entire life. He served in the USMC Reserves, receiving an honorable discharge for epilepsy seizures caused from an automobile accident. He was employed at the Chattanooga DuPont Plant and Chattanooga Coca-Cola Bottling Company, retiring in 1999. Jim loved animals, sports, Ford Mustangs and he was of the Baptist Faith.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Oscar Reno and Addie Reno and his parents, Ralph Norris and Stacie Norris.
Jim is survived by his sons, James Michael (Donna) Norris of Hixson; Mark Edward Norris of Chattanooga; grandson, Michael Blake (Shelby) Norris of Soddy Daisy; granddaughter, Baylee (Dakota) Griffith of Soddy Daisy; one great-granddaughter, Sawyer Kay Norris; one brother, David (Bonnie) Norris of Chattanooga; one sister, Karen Hodges of Chattanooga; an uncle, Noah Reno of Soddy Daisy; an aunt, Imojean Blackburn of Soddy Daisy and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to Arrhythmia & Cardiology of Chattanooga, Continue Care Home Health and a lifelong friend, Herbert Brown.
His family will be receiving guests from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home. There will be a private service at a later date.
