James I. “Ike” Johnson, Jr. of Soddy Daisy passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2018. He was a graduate of Soddy Daisy High School and Middle Tennessee State University. During his career, he worked for Farmers Home Administration, Chickamauga Battlefield, and Orange Grove School. He was a member of Soddy United Methodist Church and the Lions Club, as well as a Boy Scout leader. He was a devoted husband, world’s greatest dad, always warming his loved ones cars during winter and making their lunches. He enjoyed metal detecting, loved reading about the civil war, was a history buff and loved traveling.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty S. Johnson.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Karen Johnson; daughter, Rebecca; sisters, Carolyn Johnson, Janet Johnson; father, James Johnson, Sr.; nephew, Corbin Vickery; and many aunts and cousins.
The funeral service will be 2:30 P.M. Sunday, May 20, 2018, at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Barry Kidwell officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Visitation is at the funeral home Saturday, May 19, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M., and Sunday after 1:00 P.M.
