Iolanda Medeiros Barbee

Iolanda Barbee, 82, passed away on May 4, 2018. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lester Barbee and her son, Robert Allen Barbee. She was employed at Blue Cross Blue Shield and Provident, served in the Brazilian Air Force, was a certified beautician, owned Lester’s Country store, published a biography while studying journalism, and spoke multiple languages.

She is survived by her sons, Jeff Barbee and Cliff (Anna) Barbee and her daughters, Denise Ritchie and Darlene (Jerry) Barnes. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Chris (Robin) Ritchie, Matthew Ritchie, Tabby (Travis) McFarland, Laura (Bruce) Garner, Jessy (Joe) Heilman, Alex Barbee, Jacob (Angelique) Barbee, Logan Barbee, and Jordan Barbee, as well as great grandchildren, Dillon and Trevor Ritchie, Brooklyn Hutcheson, Blayne Jones, and Ariah and Maggie Garner.

Services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday, May 7, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Kelly Selby presiding; burial will follow at Smith Cemetery. The family will receive friends and loved ones from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 8, 2018.
