George Washington Kilgore, Jr., 54, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2022. He was a devout Christian. George worked with the Hamilton County Department of Education serving as the District Contact Lead for all the Vocational Schools and served on the State of Tennessee WBL Regional Leadership Team. He served as a former Youth Pastor for many years and the Pastor of Celebrate Recovery. He was a great husband, father, brother and PawPaw. George was preceded in death by his father, George Washington Kilgore, Sr. and cousin, Donnie Kilgore, Jr.
Survivors are his wife of 34 years, Sha Kilgore; children, Brooke Layne (Derek), Breylin Kilgore, Macae Jackson (Austin), Sara Smartt (Tanner); grandchildren, Jaxon Layne, Jentson Layne, Jhett Layne, Abel Smartt, Remi Mae Jackson; mother, Erma Kilgore; siblings, Cindy Cagle (Scott), Tiffany Skelton (Teddy); nieces, Katlynn Cagle, Zoë Skelton; great nephew, Brantley Wallisch; his extended family, Kendra McCahill (Hannah), Dani Privett, Josh Chapman, Rachal Smith and many other loved ones and friends.
Services will be on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. EST in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Randy Franks officiating. Burial will follow at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. EST at the funeral home.
