Garland Sullivan, 85, passed away on February 25, 2019. He was a U.S. Army veteran, founded Sullivan Services in 1973, was an avid gardener and loved the outdoors. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church; serving as deacon and a Sunday school teacher since 1962. Garland’s greatest pleasure in life was his family. His legacy was to do God’s will and pass that mission down to his family, grandchildren, and future generations to come.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Wester and Sally Mae Sullivan; sister, Wilma McMillan; and brothers, Thomas, Jimmy, Ralph, Howard, and Vance Sullivan.
Survivors include his loving wife of 56 ½ years, Wilma Sullivan; son, Jeffery Garland (Jamie) Sullivan; daughter, Pamela Sullivan (Timothy) Anderson; brother, Johnny Milton Sullivan; grandchildren, Michelle Anderson, Randi Hensley, Jennifer (Joshua) Smith, and Katie Sullivan; and a special friend, Darreyl Duggar.
Services will be held in the funeral home chapel Thursday, February 28, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Steve James presiding. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends and loved ones from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 26 and Wednesday, February 27 at the funeral home.
