Ellen Gray

Ellen Dowlen Gray, 80, of Red Bank, passed away on August 26, 2021 at a local hospital. Ellen was born September 4, 1940 in Falling Water. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Elizabeth, her brother James, and her infant children Erin and Eric.

She graduated from Hixson High School in 1958. She attended MTSU and Pensacola Junior College. Ellen worked as a surgical tech at Erlanger and then as a Registered Nurse at Sacred Heart Hospital. Ellen loved her coworkers and taking care of her patients. She was an avid gardener, filling her yard with beautiful flowers and sharing them with friends. She enjoyed sewing clothing for her loved ones. She loved reading and collecting dolls and was lately a NASCAR fan. Ellen returned to Red Bank in 2009, to be near her place of birth.   Ellen was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many, and she will be greatly missed. 

Ellen is survived by her brother Henry (Pat), son Edward (Jayanti) and their daughter Ria; daughter Elizabeth and her children Zane, Levi, and Robin; son Evan; daughter Eden; her cats, Rowdy, Happy and Scout; and her stepchildren, nieces and nephews and their families. 

The graveside service will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, September3, 2021 in Levi Cemetery.
