Edwin Brown

Edwin Lester “Poppy” Brown, 92, of Soddy-Daisy, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 10, 2020. A native of Virginia, he moved to Soddy-Daisy in 1970. He was a member of Mile Straight Baptist Church. Edwin served his country in World War II in the U.S. Navy and the Korean War in the U.S. Air Force. He served 4 years in the U.S. Navy and retired after 20 years in the U.S. Air Force as Staff Sergeant. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Brown and son, Phillip Brown.

Survivors are his children, Carl Brown, David Brown and Jill Westfall (Timothy); grandchildren, Britni Brown, Haleigh Brown, Nicholas Dunn, Caleb Brown, Garrett Westfall; great grandchildren, Audyssei, Lileeyana, Sovereign and Evelyyn; and extended family.

Services will be held on Monday, January 13, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel Rev. Al Goss officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton County Memorial Park with military honors. Visitation is Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
