Dycie Nell Long

Dycie Nell Long, 84, of Hixson, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2019. She was a charter member of Red Bank Church of God and attended Christ Family Church the last 12 years. Nell enjoyed quilting and crafting. She quilted at Northside Neighborhood House. She provided child care for many years. Her kids loved her and called her “Nanny”. Nell is preceded in death by her husband Jim Long and her daughter, Janet Garnett and 10 siblings.

Survivors are her 3 children, Terry Long (Charlotte), Sheila Harwood (Eddie) and Denise Neyman; siblings, Fred Pell, Richard Pell, Leon Pell, Kenneth Pell, Ina Faye Nance; grandchildren, Terry Long, Jinney Tipton, Zachary Long, Bryan Crowell, Sarah Hodshire, Jeremy McNeece, Justin Brown, Nick Neyman, Daniel Neyman, Benjamin Neyman; honorary granddaughter, Lauren Ledwell Roberts; 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bishop Calvin Nunley officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
