Don Lamar Bright

Donnie Lamar “Don” Bright, Sr., 80, of Hixson, went home to meet King Jesus his Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 30, 2021. Don was a life-long resident of the Chattanooga area. He retired from Astec Industries and was a founding member, treasurer and music director of Canaan Baptist Church of Chattanooga. Don lived for the Lord and treasured his church and church family. He was a loving husband, father, and brother as well as a dear friend to all that knew him. He had a lifelong passion for helping people, fishing, and spending time on his farm with his flowers and fruit trees.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Bright; father, James Bright; brother, Tommy Bright and sister, Nancy Miller.

Don was survived by survived by his wife, Judy; son, Donnie Bright (Tonya); daughters, Darlene Huckeba (Robert), Jill Bright, Annette Wilson (Sterling); brother, Jim Bright; sister-in-law, Maureen Bright; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services will be on Monday, January 3, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Joe Gill officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
