Donna Lewis Camarata

Donna Sue Lewis Camarata, 78, a native and resident of Soddy-Daisy, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023. She was a loving mother. Donna was a devoted member of the body of Christ, who worshiped at Calvary Chapel Northside in Hixson. She graduated from Soddy-Daisy High School in the class of 1962. After high school she worked at the Electric Power Board as a switch board operator. Donna taught Advertising Design at Sequoyah High School in Soddy-Daisy from 1987-2007. Her students referred to her as “Mrs. C”. She enjoyed camping with the FMCA Chapter of Tennessee Travelers and wintering in Punta Gorda, Florida at Paradise Park. Donna was very talented artistically and loved to sing in the choir. She had a green thumb and loved her plants, pets and nature. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Camarata; parents, Paul and Alma Lewis and sister, Peggy Diane Lewis.

Survivors are her children, Jonathan Marc Dunn; Kristin Kara Dunn-George (fiancé, Chad Wilson); brother, Paul T. Lewis (Sharon); she was “Nonna” to her grandchildren who she adored, Chloe Shupe (Josh), Ella George, Alice McMahon and Evan McMahon; several nieces, cousins and extended family.

There will be a gathering for family and friends to celebrate her life announced at a later date and will be published on her obituary once available.
