Connie Louise Winters

Connie Louise Winters (01/21/1937 – 07/10/2018) went to Heaven after complications from Alzheimer’s (a disease she gently referred to gently and simply as her, “Senior Moments”).  Connie lived her life for the Lord; happily sang hymns throughout the house; and raised her children in the Church of God. She dutifully urged, (nagged) her husband into his increased church attendance by the 1980’s or so. She never gave up on her family’s salvation. She was a Sunday School teacher and member of the Soddy Church of God until changing her membership to Christ Family Church. You would know if you visited her house at Halloween if you found a Christian pamphlet on How to Be Saved in your candy pail. 

Connie is preceded in death by son Ron K. Winters, Jr., Parents Frances and Cassie Lee Hughes, brother Boyd Hughes, sisters Faynette Hughes Touchton, and Patsy Hughes Morgan.  She is survived by husband of 61 years, Ronald K. Winters, Sr, daughter Diana Winters; sister Carolyn Hughes Harness; Sister-in-Law bestie and prayer partner Mary Lou Hughes; Nieces Rhonda and Debbie; and nephews Randy and Jimmie.

Connie spent her lifetime in Soddy.  She loved her community, being involved with the church, Band Boosters, Scouting, and retired from Dixie Yarns.

Many heartfelt thanks for the care given by Hospice of Chattanooga, Dayton office. 

Services will be on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bishop Calvin Nunley officiating.  Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.  Visitation is Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
