Charles Taylor

Charles Robert Taylor, 81, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, November 23, 2021.  He was retired from Steins Construction after 29 years and went to work for Soddy-Daisy Utility District for several years after.  He was a member of the Soddy Masonic Lodge #418 F.&A.M. and a past Grand Master.  He was known to many as Charlie had his love for music was always known, especially Merle Haggard.  You could always find him in his garage surrounded by his friends playing music just about every weekend.  He always worked hard and took great care of his family showing nothing but unconditional love.  He was preceded in death by his father, James Clarence Taylor; mother, Willie Geneva Taylor; son, Rusty Taylor; grandson, Stoney Taylor; brother, Crayton Taylor and sisters, Sue Garcia, Lavada Bowers and Joann Taylor.

Survivors are his loving wife of 59 years, Mary Etta Taylor; daughters, Cindy Taylor (Angie James), Anna Sue Taylor, Liz Lasley (Jr.), Charla Hampton, Robin Jackson (Richard), 11 grandchildren, several great grandchildren; sister, Charlotte Manning and brother, Ed Taylor.

Services will be held on Friday, November 26, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Alan Stewart officiating.  Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Bryan Dodd, Teddy Lee Taylor, Russell Brown, Russ Brown, Josh Smith and Mark Leffew serving as pallbearers.  Mickey Smith will be an honorary pallbearer.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home before the service.
