Bobby James

Bobby Ray James, 87, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2023. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marcella Hinkle; son, Bobby James, Jr., several sisters and one brother and one special brother-in-law who was like a dad to him, Archie Poole. Bobby retired from Crane Company. He loved his guitar and played in a band in his younger days. He put up thousands of Christmas lights each year. On Saturday nights you could find him at the race track cheering for his grandson. Bobby attended the Sale Creek Church of God. He was proud of all his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Georgia James; daughter, Deborah (Kevin) Shoutt of Madisonville, Tennessee; sons, Dennis James of Sale Creek, Michael (Gina) James and Kevin (Christine) James of Soddy-Daisy; grandchildren, Kyle, Heather, Dalton, Holden and Christian, all of Soddy-Daisy; great grandchildren, Emilee, Alexis and Addison; several nieces, nephews and extended family.

The visitation is Thursday, January 26, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Services will be on Friday, January 27, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bishop Terry Bolton officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton County Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Sammy Poole, Jeff Westfall, Tim James, Ron Cox, Billy Morgan and Glenn Maples.
