Bobby Hargis

Bobby Ray Hargis, 83, of Soddy Daisy, went home to be with the Lord on April 14, 2021.

Bobby was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Elli Hargis. Bobby was also preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Mildred Hargis, and his sister Vonzella (Hubert) Shipley and Clyde (Viva) Hargis.

Bobby is survived by his son Marvin (Vickie) Hargis of Sale Creek, TN; daughters, Middie (Larry) Gandy and Susie (Jerry) Roberts of Soddy Daisy, TN. Seven grandchildren, Amanda Finlay, Justin (Stacy) Hargis, Dustin (Karen) Gandy, Josh (Cristi) Roberts, Tyler (Megan) Gandy, Jared (Lauren) Roberts, Clay Hargis. Great grandchildren, Gracie Gandy, Lila Gandy, Maggie Gandy, Makayla Gandy, Tinley Gandy, Bella Roberts, Claire Roberts, Mason Finlay, Christopher Hargis, Jasmine Hargis and Abby Hargis. Brother, John (Barbara) Hargis. Numerous nieces and nephews.

Bobby served in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Plumbers & Steamfitters, Local Union 43 for 60 years. He also was the owner/operator of the Union Fork Bait & Tackle and the Minner Hole in Soddy Daisy, TN. Bobby was a member of the Hill City Masonic Lodge 603.

Bobby never met a stranger and lived life to the fullest. His motto always in life was “I love good times.” He enjoyed traveling, golf, raising funds for charities and spending time with his family. He had a multitude of friends that were like family to him and he spoke of them often. He had a gift for storytelling and his stories and memories will always be remembered.

He was a member of the Soddy Church of Christ.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 18 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m at the funeral home and from 11:00 to 12:00 on Monday before services. Masonic services will be held on Monday, April 19 in the funeral home chapel at 12:00 p.m. Minister Joel Danley will officiate. Interment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens following the service.
