Barbara Jean Housley

Barbara Jean Housley, 86 of Soddy Daisy went to her Heavenly home on Sunday, February 23, 2020. She was a lifelong resident of Soddy Daisy and a member of Soddy Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elsea and Molly (Penney) Housley; five brothers, Wallace, Morris, Herschel, Eugene and Harold Housley; and two sisters, Louise Watts and Vernon Reynolds.

She is survived by two sisters, Bea Burns of Chesapeake, VA and Mary Ann Dupree of Norfolk, VA; several nieces, nephews, many friends and extended families that loved her dearly.

She spent her entire life caring for others. She took care of her mom, dad, and brother, Eugene until their passing. Then it was our pleasure to care for her.

Special thanks to Standifer Place Assisted Living for the many years of love and care, she loved the staff and friends she met there.

Also, thanks to Erlanger East ER and ICU for making her and her family comfortable during her last days.

Services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. with Brother Phil O’Dell presiding. Burial will follow at Presbyterian Cemetery. The family will receive friends and loved ones from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 26, 2020.
