Tribute

 

Alvin Keith Avila Sr, 67, of Soddy Daisy Tennessee, passed away on February 18th, 2021 in Los Angeles, California. He was born the 5th of 10 children in the beautiful village of Barranco, in the Toledo District of Belize Central America, to the late Georgiana Palacio Avila and Reginald Peter Avila.

He is survived by his spouse, Lizzie Jean (Jackson) Avila, two daughters, Kendra and Gina, two sons Kenny and Rual Paul Avila and three grandchildren Giniah, Geremiah, and Kyler. He is also survived by 5 siblings, Jean, Clifford, Harold Eugene and his wife Remy Avila, Leo Dale and Urban Paul Avila, numerous nieces and nephews including: Glenn, Lizeth, Mary, Lynn, Tanya Avila and Makisha.

Alvin attended Elementary School in Cattle Landing Village and High School at the St. Peter Clever College in Punta Gorda Town, Toledo District, Belize, and Central America. After finishing high school, he became a teacher and later became a Seventh Day Adventist; he assisted the Adventist Church by pioneering a self-supporting Ministry in Progresso Village, Corozal, Belize, Central America. While working in Progresso Village he met his wife, and later moved with her to the US. Alvin was determined, stubborn and had a good work ethic. He was an entrepreneur and owned his own trucking company, which he used to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. He was very proud of his children and always did his best to support them. He also had a strong love for his relatives whom he also supported and would visit when the opportunity arose. Keith enjoyed reading, attending his local Seventh Day Adventist church and studied the Bible with his extended family. He loved learning and was not afraid to learn new things. After retiring while in LA he returned to school and obtained his Massage Therapy Certificate. Keith will be missed immensely by his family, relatives and friends.Keith was predeceased by his mother Georgiana Avila nee Palacio, father Reginald Avila, siblings Guillermo, Edna, Edita and Regina Avila, aunts Iris Garcia, Josephine Palacio and Petrona Joseph, uncles Lewis, Augustus and Fred Palacio.
