Bill Gothard

William McKinley “Bill” Gothard, 93, of Sale Creek, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Beulah Gothard; wife, Elfrida and brother, Bobby Gothard. Mr. Gothard was a World War II veteran having served six years in the U.S. Army. He was a proud member of the 4th Armored Division and served under General George S. Patton. He owned and operated Gothard Supply in Sale Creek for over 60 years.

Survivors are son, Mike Gothard (Carolyn) of Crossville, TN; grandson, David Gothard (Lisa); grandchildren, Megan, Matthew, Aaron and Andrew Gothard of Canton, Ohio; sisters, Dorothy Skroch of Sale Creek and Georgia Morgan (Bill) of Soddy-Daisy; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with military honors. Visitation will be Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank the wonderful nurses and chaplain of Amedisys Hospice that loved and cared for our Bill. We would also like to thank the wonderful neighbors that help us look out for Mr. Bill.
