Tribute

Phyllis Jo (Gibson) Jennemann, born August 30, 1960 in Fort Stewart, Georgia. Being an Army Brat, she grew up all over, including Germany, Fort Knox, Kentucky, Fort Stewart, Georgia and two times in Texas.

The last time in Texas was at Fort Hood where she graduated from Killeen High School. Right after graduation, her dad was transferred to Cleveland, Ohio to advise the National Guard.

It was there she met and married Thomas Jennemann. In 1984 Phyllis and Tom followed her parents to Chattanooga, Tennessee where her dad, SGM Sherrard Gibson, was to teach ROTC at Red Bank and Eastridge for over twenty years.

In 1997 she moved to a corporate job becoming a Taskforce Accountant traveling through the country coast to coast. Her and Tom divorced in 2003 and she moved to the Tampa Bay area settling in Safety Harbor, Florida. From there she moved to Helena, Alabama and went to work as an Assistant Controller at a Hotel Resort.

In 2006 after she accepted the position of Controller at a Hotel in Key West, Florida. She bought a new car while there and before she could put a hundred miles on it she suffered a severe neurological event putting her in a coma for two weeks, She lost her memory had to relearn how to walk and talk after coming out of the coma.

Her brother Dan came and took her to live with him in North Royalton, Ohio. Suffering many injuries and illnesses she had kidney failure and received double kidney transplant and a pancreas in 2011. Although in a wheelchair, she regained her health and moved out on her own to Strongsville, Ohio in 2016.

Her ex-husband, Tom, had remarried and lost his wife in 2018. On February 15, 2020 she once again married Tom and moved back to the house they bought together on Mowbray Mountain, Tennessee.

In the early morning hours of March 31, 2024 on Easter Sunday, our Lord Jesus escorted Phyllis home. She leaves behind her husband, Tom; a brother, Dan (Debbie); beloved sister-in-law, Andrea (Steve); brother-in-laws, Paul (Magalie) and Larry (Karen) along with seventeen nieces and nephews and twenty-eight great-nieces and nephews.

Being a Christian, Phyllis and Tom are member of the Mile Straight Baptist Church.
